The presentation is part of the ECSMGE24 Pre-conference workshop “WS 5 – Recent advances in rigid inclusions”, arranged by with ISSMGE TC211 – Ground Improvement in Lisbon, 25 August 2024. The presentation covered the evolution of rigid inclusions in Portugal, advancements in technical methods, historical impacts on engineering, project execution challenges, and future directions for innovation in the field.

Antonio Cristóvão, KELLER

António Cristóvão has a degree in Civil Engineering; he is a Senior Member of the Portuguese Engineers Association since 2014 and has been recognized by the same association has Specialist Member in Geotechnics in 2017. António Cristóvão works as a Designer and as a Consultant since 2005. In 2008 and 2009 he joined Keller Grundbau, a company to which he returned later, in 2019. Between 2012 and 2018 he worked at the consultancy company JETsj Geotecnia, assuming the directive board of that company from 2014 to 2018. António Cristóvão is a representative member of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) in the TC211 – Ground Improvement (ISSMGE), since 2014. He is member of the Board of the Portuguese Transportation Geotechnical Commission (CPGT) since 2016 and of the Portuguese Commission for ground Improvement (CPMT), since 2022. António is author and co-author of several technical papers on foundations and ground improvement and invited speaker in geotechnical and ground improvement related conferences and seminars. António currently assumes the role of Business Director at Keller Iberia.
